05/05/15 New SCIONON Grafting Shears SGM5-22R
Since their development and commercial release 5 years ago, SCIONON has continued development to improve the function and performance of our range of Grafting Shears. Three models have been available for three or four years now, all providing users with the ability to safely and easily perform many common grafting cuts. Until now, the jaw set-up of each model has been suited to making two or three particular cuts within a certain diameter range. Each model of Grafting Shears has been refined over the years to perform better and can now be adjusted to suit many applications, with all models able to make at least 6 or 7 grafting cuts.
Our latest development has combined all three current jaws into one extremely versatile tool. Not only have we incorporated all the best features of the current models into one jaw set-up, we have expanded the cutting range and even taught ourselves a few new tricks. Now the user can cut whip & tongue, rind, wedge, cleft grafts, and prepare chip & 'T' buds, without the need to make adjustments to the jaw set-up. However when needed, changes can easily be made to suit a particular grafting situation, but won't be required as often or when alternating from small to larger diameters.
All this has been achieved by increasing the jaw plate from 4mm to 5mm 304 stainless steel. Adding a few more stack plates with large centre holes to the outer jaw anvil assists grip and will aid the ejection of trapped debris. The recess pockets have also been enlarged and realigned allowing more variation along the jaw plane to increase the cutting capacity and range of cuts possible. Grafting Shears SGM5-22R have an increased cutting range of between 3mm to 22mm in diameter. What's more with the addition of a second cutting blade to the blade holder, the user will be able to transform their Grafting Shears SGM5-22R to also create kerf grafts.
